About Bhutan

Summary:

Bhutan is a small landlocked Himalayan Kingdom, popularly known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon, bordered by Tibetan Autonomous Region of China in the north and Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal and Sikkim in the south, east and west. Bhutan is home to a unique identity, derived essentially from its rich cultural heritage. For centuries, Bhutan remained sequestered from the rest of the world due to its conscious policy of isolation complemented by the geographical terrains which enabled the country to maintain its independence throughout its history. With the country’s unique development philosophy of Gross National Happiness, Bhutan is becoming increasingly known for its rich culture and traditions, pristine ecology and wildlife, lush valleys and majestic mountains, beautiful architecture and warm, hospitable people; thus, aptly referred to as “The Last Shangrila.” A journey through Bhutan is an experience of a lifetime. Come experience Bhutan with our team at “Tour of Happiness.”
